World Cup 2022: Shane Watson bets for India vs Pakistan final

Australian cricketer Shane Watson has reckoned to witness India vs Pakistan final, letting the arch-rivals meet for the fourth time in the calendar year. They locked horns with each other twice in Asia Cup 2022 and once in the Group stage of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. Since both have qualified for the semi-finals, the men in blue are scheduled to meet England, whereas the men in green will meet New Zealand in the first semifinal.

Despite the craze of Pak-Indo cricket among the lookouts, the two do not meet apart from ICC and ACC events. It is due to their political differences, or else people from both nations are craving to witness cricket reliving between either side.

The last time they met, India managed to win in a last-ball thriller. Witnessing Pak vs Ind final, that too in the World Cup 2022, will not only be the second incident in the marquee tournament’s history but will also ignite the craze worldwide to cheer for the rivals.

While talking to ICC, Watson narrated,

“Everyone would love to see Pakistan and India in the final,”

“I, unfortunately, missed that first (Super 12) game at the MCG, as I commentated the game previously between Australia and New Zealand”, he added.

“But from all reports, all the people that went along to that game said it was something very special, and the game was obviously an amazing game to watch on TV as well. They played in the T20 World Cup final in 2007, and everyone would love to see it again,”

However, for India vs Pakistan final, both teams would have to conquer their respective semifinals scheduled on the 9th and 10th of November.
