England Cricket Team is all set to receive a lucrative amount of $1.6 Million for defeating Pakistan in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 final on Sunday at iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
The nailbiting T20 event came to an end as the men in green took over Jos Buttler and co to lift the trophy after a wait of 15 years. However, Buttler’s men shattered their dreams with the courtesy of Ben Stokes’s power show with the bat.
Following the thrilling journey of Babar Azam’s men throughout the tournament, they will receive a whopping amount of $800,000, exactly half of what England will get.
Moreover, the semifinalists India and England will get half the amount of the runner-ups, that is, $400,000. The teams that played the role throughout the Super 12 stage in Australia will also get a payout for their efforts.
The eight teams that exited at the Super 12 stage will receive $70,000 each. Like last year at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, a win in each of the 30 games in the Super 12 phase is worth $40,000 to each team.
The four teams that were knocked out in the first round – UAE, Scotland, Namibia and West Indies – will get $40,000 each, but each side will also receive an additional $40,000 for each win they picked up during the First Round.
