Wasim Jnr’s injury news created a fuss on social media, with loads of prayers for his speedy recovery. He was taken to the hospital for an MRI scan on Thursday after he complained of back pain while bowling in training sessions. Wasim is now ruled out due to a side strain from Pakistan’s Asia Cup 2022 squad following his injury.
The young bowler has been replaced by experienced Hasan Ali, who has been out of form for a long now. Hasan is currently in Rawalpindi, carrying on his rehabilitation for the last three weeks. He was all set to participate in the National t20 Cup 2022 starting from 30th August but has been called immediately by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
He awaits approval from the Event Technical Committee (ETC) to fly to Dubai and will join Pakistan’s Asia Cup 2022 squad there. Hasan’s first task will be to bounce back against India, as the men in green kick start their campaign versus the arch-rivals on August 28th at Dubai International Stadium.
His form has been a question for a long. In the last six innings, he has taken only three wickets for 242 with an average of 80. Also, his pace got reduced to 133 from 145. On numerous crucial occasions, the medium-fast bowler has cost the team the matches. However, the fans now expect him to bounce back stronger, stopping flow of runs, and bagging a couple of wickets throughout the Asia Cup’s encounters.
Concerning Wasim Jnr’s injury the board stated,
“The findings were discussed with the PCB Medical Advisory Committee, while an independent review by a specialist physiotherapist was also sought,”

Pakistan have been dealing with hefty blows on and off. Earlier, they lost Shaheen Shah Afridi, whose knee injury is still not fully healed. It was assumed that the board might name Hasan as Shaheen’s replacement. But the moment Mohammad Hasnain was named his replacement, the fans were joyful.
