World Cup 2022: Wasim Jnr looking to improve his batting ahead of remaining matches

Mohammad Wasim Jnr thinks he needs to work on his batting to grant match-winning performances in the upcoming encounters of the T20 World Cup 2022.

He rendered 12 runs and stayed not out, alongside picking a four-wicket haul throwing away 24 runs in the team’s last match against Zimbabwe. He feels he needs to better with the bat as only bowling does not feel adequate to him.

While being gutted, Wasim spoke to GEO Super,

“I am disappointed at not being able to do enough for a team with my batting, though my bowling was satisfactory as I took four wickets. I’ve got to improve my batting as well,”

Following Pakistan’s two back-to-back defeats against India and Zimbabwe, respectively, Wasim thinks winning or losing in a part of the game and the men in green are still motivated to do better despite these thrashes.

“Winning or losing is part of the game. We are motivated to do well and give our best in games to come,”

Since Pakistan’s chances to qualify for the semifinal are expelled but yet with some leftover possibilities, reliant on other teams’ wins and losses, Wasim says the guys will try to do whatever is in their hands.

He believes India and Zimbabwe did not come across single-handed wins since Pakistan put effort and lost on the last ball in both games.

“What we have in our hands is our effort and we will try to give our best efforts; we did make efforts in previous games as well but we were not fortunate enough on those two occasions,”
