Pakistan all set to feature in Over-50s World Cup

Pakistan Cricket Team is all set to participate in the Over-50s World Cup tournament, which is scheduled to take place in Capetown, South Africa. The tournament will be contested between March 6th and March 20th next year.

In order to send the best possible team for the tournament, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has scheduled a match between Karachi Kings and Karachi Knights at Rashid Latif Cricket Academy on Monday.

Karachi Knights squad has Jafar Qureshi (Captain), Sajid Ali, Azhar Khan, Iqbal Sheikh, Asim Mumtaz, Mazhar Hussain, Shahid Dawood, Imran ul Haq, Jawad Ali, Naeem Tayyab, Ahmed Hayat, Aamir Sabzwari, Muhammad Yousuf, Sohail Mehdi.

Karachi Kings will include Fawad Berry (captain), Dr. Asjad, Mohammad Javed, Jam Nafees, Qamar Ibrahim, Asif Siddiqui, Mansoor Khan, Irfanullah, Khalid Yasin, Waheed Ahmed, Asif Mughal, Shakir Bhagat, Ahsan Shakur.

Apart from Pakistan, 13 other teams are gearing up to take part in the tournament. Unlike the 2020 edition, USA and United Arab Emirates are the new inclusion in the recent edition. All 14 teams are divided into two pools.

Every team will play six-round matches against the other teams in its own pool. The top two teams from each pool will move to the semi-finals, while the remaining teams will compete for lower slots. It means each of the 14 teams will play a total of eight games.
