That is it! We have two matches lined up for you. On the 6th of this month, Karachi Kings will take on Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United faces Lahore Qalandars. Join us at 2.30 pm IST (9 am GMT) for all the action. Cheers!
Babar Azam wins the Player of the Match. He says it is not easy at all even if they score above 200 this season. Adds he does not matter if he is captain or not, he just tries to do best with the bat. Reckons there is a lot of talk about strike rates but he is not the guy who will hit sixes from the word go. Tells Mehran Mumtaz is a special player, he plays with passion. Shares they have to be consistent and keep winning, feels they could do better with the bat as welll.
...Presentation next...
Maybe, if any one of the top order batters could have made most of the start or if Multan scored at a quicker rate earlier on, things could have been different. Still though, they’ll be happy they did not lose by a big margin.
Aamer Jamal was really good in the middle overs and he picked up crucial wickets too. Salman Irshad and Luke Wood though were really expensive and they were taken to the cleaners by Iftikar who scored a fine half ton. He somehow gave his side a chance, a narrow one but he kept them alive in the last over too. Irshad though held his nerve when it mattered and helped his side get over the line and bag crucial two points.
Another close finish in this year’s PSL and it is Peshawar Zalmi who have come out on top. They have done the double over Multan. The only reason though Multan came so close is Iftikhar Ahmed and Chris Jordan. Peshawar were in total control of this game throughout. They leaked runs in the first three overs or so but Mumtaz was excellent. He got the first wicket and since then, it was a struggle for all the batters who came in.
