Stay tuned for the presentation ...
The Paarl Royals did not finish well with the bat and they neither had best of the starts with the ball. MI Cape Town batters went on an attacking mode right from the start and the Royals' bowlers had no answers to that. All of them were taken to the cleaners with Tabraiz Shamsi being the standout of the lot by picking 2 for 35 in his spell. Earlier in the day, the Paarl Royals 172 for 8 on the back of a fluent 46 from Jos Buttler and an attacking inning from Jason Roy. The openers gave them a rollicking start but the middle order failed to capitalize on the start and the Royals ended with a below-par score. The Royals have suffered their first defeat of the season and will have some thinking to do before their next game.
A thumping win for the MI Cape Town who have defeated the Paarl Royals by 8 wickets and chased this down with more than three overs to spare. Chasing 173 for the win, the MI Cape Town openers started in a positive and attacking manner by adding 80 for the first wicket in just over 8 overs. Rassie van der Dussen was the first man to be dismissed for a well-made 41 off 28 but Ryan Rickelton carried on his brilliant form and ended with an outstanding knock of 94* off 52 to make a light work of this chase. Connor Esterhuizen made a handy 17* and played his part in the run-chase. MI Cape Town are back to winning ways and the home crowd is overjoyed!
