Kabul Eagles beat Mis-e-Ainak Knights by 9 runs

That's all from this game and this year's edition of the Shpageeza Cricket League! Kabul Eagles were brilliant and have been crowned the champions with the defending champions losing a game which they should have won. With that, we are done with the coverage of the 2020 edition of the SCL and we thoroughly enjoyed bringing you all the action for this tournament. Until next time, cheers and take care.
Nangeyalia Kharote is the MAN OF THE MATCH for his excellent spell of 4-0-25-2 and his contribution of 21 runs with the bat.
Earlier in the final, The Knights did a terrific job of restricting the Eagles to just 139 on the board. Dawlat Zadran was the key bowler with the other bowlers supporting him well. It was Kharote for the Eagles to help them post a respectable score on the board. The total by no means looked enough but the Eagles never gave up and their bowlers bowled wonderfully well to defend it and take the trophy home!
The Knights' batting did not show up with the bat in the final! They would have backed themselves to chase this down with ease! But they lost their trump cards in the first two overs and they never recovered. Hashmatullah Shahidi did not last too long either. Ghamai Zadran and Shahidullah Kamal tried their best to chase it but they lost their wickets at crucial times and they were pegged back. Dawlat Zadran hit some lusty blows in the end to give some hopes to the Knights but it was too late. This was a poor performance with the bat and the defending champions will be a disappointed bunch.
The Eagles' bowling came out with intent as they picked up the big wickets of Bahar Ali Shinwari and Mohammad Shahzad early on in the innings. They kept on chipping away at the wickets and they did not give away any easy runs to the Knights. All the bowlers were excellent with the ball and they managed to defend 139 runs. Nijat Masood and Nangeyalia Kharote were the pick of the bowlers while the others also chipped in with wickets and a good economy rate. Overall, it was an excellent bowling performance and they have become the champions of the Shpageeza Cricket League!
Wow, the Kabul Eagles have clinched the Shpageeza Cricket League, 2020 title! Look at the scenes! Unbelievable! The Eagles' support staff rush out to the field and start celebrating and rightly so! What a victory for them! Would anybody have given them a chance at the end of the first innings? Probably not but the bowlers came out with intent and have defended this score with relative ease.

OUT! RUN OUT! This is complete self destruction by the Knights! They have gifted this game away to the Eagles! They looked like they would chase this down with ease but they have completely bottled this chase and final right at the end. Good length ball on off, Dawlat works this one towards the third man region, the fielder there fumbles a bit as he collects this one and throws it towards the keeper. Dawlat runs back for the second as he wanted to take the strike, the keeper lets the ball by and it hits the stump gently, whipping the bail off. The players of Eagles are beyond happy as they think that they have got their man. The third umpire is called into action and replays roll in and it is seen that Dawlat is out of his crease as the bails come off. He is out and the Eagles have finished the job. KABUL EAGLES WIN THE SHPAGEEZA CRICKET LEAGUE 2020 BY 9 RUNS!
Is that the end of the tournament? Kabul Eagles are confident that Dawlat Zadran is out and they are celebrating without even waiting for the third umpires' decision! The replays roll in and Dawlat Zadran is out.
A run out appeal has been taken upstairs. Shapoor Zadran is nowhere in the picture and he goes.  More important for the Knights, Dawlat Zadran is on strike.

OUT! RUN OUT AGAIN! It is all happening at the final! Direct hit this time and Shapoor Zadran walks back to the hut now!  A yorker on middle, Zadran works this to the fielder at long off and they decide to come back for the second run. The fielder does well to aim and hit the stumps at the non-striker end and this one is out! Shapoor walks off as replays show that this is out!

SIX! What a game this is turning into in this last over! A full toss on middle, Dawlat scoops this over the keeper's head and it crosses the fence at fine leg for a maximum. Nerve-wrecking stuff! Intense pressure on both the batters and the bowler! 12 required off the last 4 balls!
Shapoor Zadran is in now.

OUT! RUN OUT! This is the perfect start for the Eagles as this is a dot and a wicket! On a full length around middle, Ibrahim plays this on the ground and the bowler collects. They look to get Dawlat to strike as Ibrahim sacrifices his wicket for the team. 18 required off 5!
Azmatullah Omarzai will bowl the final over. Can he defend 18 runs?

OUT! CAUGHT! This time Abdul cannot heave it for a boundary as this one is caught! An inspired passage of play for the Eagles in the past five overs has seen the Eagles trump past the Knights as the favourites to seal a victory and the title. A short length ball around middle, Abdul heaves this uppishly towards the deep mid-wicket region and the fielder sets himself under the ball and does well to take this one. 25 required off 9 now!
