Islamabad United beat Lahore Qalandars by 28 runs

Right then! Islamabad United go to the top of the table with this win while Lahore Qalandars slip down to second with the same number of points but with a lower net run-rate. We have another game coming up for you as Multan Sultans take on Peshawar Zalmi. That match will begin at 2200 local (1800 GMT). Do join us for that. Cheers and take care.
Shadab Khan, Islamabad United skipper, says that they need to back their decisions and even if they lost this game, they would not have regretted to bat first. Adds that they played really well and made a really good comeback.
Asif Ali, the PLAYER OF THE MATCH, says that he thanks God that his team won. Adds that the situation was tough and he was talking with his partner that if they go till the last over, they can get a good score and that is exactly what they did.
Sohail Akhtar, Lahore Qalandars' skipper, says that Islamabad United bowled really well and they did not show any responsibility and they need to do that in the upcoming games. Adds that they need to work on their death bowling and they gave away 15 to 20 runs extra. States that they did not bowl well to the middle order of Islamabad United. Goes onto say that their team has played well and they will make a comeback in the next game.
Lahore started so well with the bat with Fakhar Zaman and Sohail Akhtar raising a very good partnership but once Akhtar fell, they lost their way. Zeeshan Ashraf could not do much while Hafeez and Dunk fell in quick succession. Zaman had to stay till the end but threw it away. Tim David could not do much. Haris Rauf did hit some lusty blows but it did not prove to be enough. Stay tuned for the presentation ceremony!!!
Islamabad United had a bad spell with the ball initially, as they conceded 55 runs in the first powerplay, but then managed to break the partnership on the final ball of the Powerplay through Fawad Ahmed. They also got a quick run out after the powerplay and then it was a procession. Musa came on and wreaked havoc as he sent Hafeez and Dunk in quick succession and then the spinners strut their stuff and pushed Lahore on the back foot. They never gave them a chance to win after the 10th over.
What a win for Islamabad United! They were in no position to win when they were 20 for 5 at one stage but they have made one of the best comebacks one has seen in T20 cricket. Lahore Qalandars will be disappointed that they could not win from a winning position at one stage with the bat and then throwing it away.

OUT! CAUGHT! Oh dear, What a magnificent catch in the deep! Game over! Islamabad United get the last man. The pressure was building up, but Iftikhar Ahmed says no problem, leave it to me. He has been brilliant in the field today and has been involved in three wickets. A length ball on off, Rauf looks to go big again, but tonight is not the night you can get through the tough hands of Iftikhar Ahmed. Islamabad United bowl out Lahore Qalandars for 124. Islamabad United win by 28 runs.
