Mark Steketee bags the Man of the Match award! He was brilliant in this game, picking up a 4-wicket haul. His efforts along with Mujeeb were instrumental in helping Brisbane Heat to bounce back in the first innings.
Let's take the game situation when Brisbane Heat decided to take the Power Surge. They needed 63 off 36 balls. Despite losing Peirson and Bazley during this period, they managed to hammer 26 runs, thereby bringing down the asking rate slightly. The momentum in our opinion shifted in their favour in the next over after the Power Surge where Carlos Brathwaite bowled very clumsily, giving plenty of extras through wides. Brisbane gathered 14 runs from Carlos' over, making it 23 off 18 balls. From thereon, it was an easy walk for the Heat as they overhauled the target with 7 balls to spare. All that was possible due to the counter-attacking stand between Jack Wildermuth and Lewis Gregory, and Sydney will be disappointed to let the game slip towards the end.
In the words of Chris Lynn, it was a 180 pitch and he was happy at the innings break with the performance of his bowlers. In pursuit, the Heat lost Burns early but that didn't hamper their progress much as Max Bryant took the attack to the bowlers. His knock meant that Brisbane was in control in the early stages of the chase. However, things changed drastically once he departed and Sydney Sixers bowled some excellent overs to build pressure. As a result, we saw wickets falling at regular intervals and it appeared that Sydney will go on to win their fifth game in a row. The picture though changed after that!
Sydney Sixers will be a bit shocked at the moment! They appeared to be in control but the game slipped away from them very quickly. That's the nature of this format. Momentum keeps on swinging and hardly stays in one camp.
What a win for Brisbane Heat! They lost a close game in the previous outing against Hobart Hurricanes but have now achieved a win which looked unlikely at one stage. Superb turnaround. Chris Lynn is delighted with the performance of his boys and is impressed with the fighting spirit shown by them. He is hoping to build on this victory and praises his team for playing smart cricket in the Power Surge.

TOP EDGE BUT SAFE! Short ball on middle, Wildermuth looks to pull but it takes the top edge and goes behind square leg. It lands safely as the fielder approaches from the deep. He collects it on one bounce and throws it to the keeper, away from the stumps. Philippe collects and has a needless shy at his end and concedes an overthrow.
