Highveld Lions beat Cape Cobras by 7 wickets

Right. That decides our top two teams. Dolphins end up first, without even finishing off their league stage while the Lions have managed to seal the second spot. Now, for the third spot. Who will it be? Warriors? Titans? It will be decided by the clash between Titans and Dolphins, in the last league game. Join us for that at 2.30 pm local (1230 GMT). See ya!
Victorious Highveld Lions captain, Temba Bavuma, says that he is very happy with the way things panned out. It was a clinical chase, he says, though the team did not get off to a good start. On Ryan Rickelton's poor form, Bavuma is not too worried as he feels that Ryan is a good player and with experienced players around him, he can definitely find a way out.
BOWLER OF THE DAY, LUTHO SIPAMLA, says that he really enjoyed his outing in the park, having been able to execute his plans. Says that there are different plans in the Powerplay and at the death but he was very clear with what needs to be done when. Details that usage of the hard lengths in the Powerplay and the slower ones at the death were the key. On him possibly getting a game in the next one, Lutho smiles and hopes he gets a chance and is always ready.
BATSMAN OF THE DAY, REEZA HENDRICKS, says that felt good, as it was one of the better wickets they played on. Admits that perhaps the batsmen approached the batting better but eventually votes it to the wicket allowing batters to play shots. Details that it allowed the batters to hit through the line. Says that the target was not too big, hence, they could afford to take their time and plan their approch.
The bowling from the Cape Cobras was not bad but they did not have enough runs to play with. George Linde did a decent job while Imran Manack had a good outing but they will be disappointed with their fielding. They dropped crucial catches at crucial times and that is probably what cost them the game. Ziyaad Abrahams did take a couple of wickets but was expensive in his 3 overs. Overall, it was a disappointing outing for the Cobras. Stay tuned for the presentation ceremony!
The run chase did not begin so well for the Lions as they lost Ryan Rickelton early in the innings but Temba Bavuma and Reeza Hendricks played with caution and they built a strong partnership. Bavuma was playing the second fiddle to Hendricks who was playing some lovely shots. Bavuma fell but Hendricks continued. Reeza departed with just around 25 needed but Wiaan Mulder kept his cool and did not let the game slip, as he played a wonderful little cameo to take his side home.
A comprehensive win for the Lions in the end! There were some nerves towards the end but Wiaan Mulder kept his cool and then won the game for his side in the last over. The Lions have won and they will be a very happy unit. Cape Cobras had a tough tournament and it has ended in a poor note for them.

SIX! This should finish things off! Full toss on off, Mulder hammers it over long off for a maximum. For a moment, it looked like it will go straight into the hands of the long off fielder but it is well over.
