Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out from the T20 World Cup 2022 squad, and he feels gutted about it. The toe-crusher suffered a back injury earlier last month and has not yet fully recovered. The injury expelled him from the home series against South Africa, and he was replaced by Mohammad Siraj.
He took it to his Instagram account and mentioned although he is saddened about the incident, he is grateful for the wishes and support he is getting from all across the world. Bumrah further mentioned that he is excited to cheer for the team once he recovers.
I am gutted that I won’t be a part of the T20 World Cup this time, but thankful for the wishes, care and support I’ve received from my loved ones. As I recover, I’ll be cheering on the team through their campaign in Australia.

The Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday confirmed Bumrah’s exclusion officially. Earlier, it was speculated that he was ruled out, but the board declined all the rumours. The pacer’s replacement for the all-important event has not been announced yet.
He also missed the Asia Cup 2022 due to his injury, and the absence served as a big blow for the team. India were expelled in the Group stage after losing against arch-rivals Pakistan. Now, they are scheduled to kick-start their World Cup campaign on 24th of October versus the same opponents.
