India and Bangladesh are currently engaged in a three-match One-Day International Series as they encountered the first match on Sunday at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium.
The visitors portrayed an embarrassing showcase whilst propelled to bat first. They collapsed in 41.2 overs and could only amass 186 runs. Apparently, it looked easy to chase, and Litton Das and co easily made it possible.
Courtesy of brilliant bowling from Shakib Al Hasan, which incorporated a five-wicket haul while conceding 36 runs from 10 overs, followed by a four-wicket haul of Ebadot Hossain, Bangladesh was able to restrict India below par.
KL Rahul turned out as the top-scorer with 73 off 70, while skipper Rohit Sharma was the next best, scoring a 31-ball 27. Shreyas Iyer took 39 balls to score 24, while the rest had below-par contributions of 186.
Bangladesh adhered to a stronger response, chasing it down in 46 overs. It was not purely one-sided from Bangladesh; it must be said that bowlers from two sides were equivalent, whilst the batters did not do much.
Indian bowlers picked nine wickets as Mohammed Siraj was the best with a three-wicket haul of 32 runs. Both Kuldeep Sen and Washington Sundar grasped two wickets apiece, whereas Deepak Chahar and Shardul Thakur struck once each.
Sparing one wicket and four overs, Bangladesh touched the feat with the courtesies of Litton Das, Shakib, and Mehidy Hasan’s batting. The batters scored 41, 29, and 38, respectively, while the rest had underdogs contributions in upbringing the feat.
