Afghanistan has now become the first team to reach Asia Cup 2022 Super fours after winning the second-consecutive match of the tournament with a big margin. They have defeated Bangladesh in their second match to book the second-round spot. Whereas, earlier, they thrashed hosts, Sri Lanka.
Mohammad Nabi and co kick-started their Asia Cup 2022 campaign versus Sri Lanka. The bowlers showed some power visuals, defeating all batters on a low total of 105. And their explosive opening batters reached the chase in just 10.1 overs.
In the recent encounter, Bangladesh’s decision to bat first favoured Nabi and men as they conceded a target of 128 runs. Shakib Al Hasan’s batters scored 127 on seven losses and fell short of balls. Mujeeb ur Rehman removed the top order, whereas leg-spinner Rashid Khan got rid of the entire middle order.
Whilst chasing, although Afghanistan’s top-order failed, but middle order’s Najeebullah Zadran’s smokey batting contributed with 43 from 17 balls. It helped them reach the feat in 18.3 overs, consequently booking the Asia Cup 2022 super fours slot.
