Ind vs Eng: Big blow to England ahead of third Test
  1. England’s spinner Jack Leach ruled out of Test series against India due to left knee injury.
  2. Series leveled at 1-1 as England prepares for crucial third test without Leach.
  3. Former Indian captain Virat Kohli to miss all three tests against England due to family reasons.

England’s spinner Jack Leach has been dealt a blow as he is ruled out of the ongoing Test series against India due to a left knee injury. With two tests concluded and the series leveled at 1-1, Leach’s absence is a setback for the English team as they prepare for the crucial third test, slated to commence on February 15th.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed Leach’s injury, stating, “Leach sustained the injury during England’s first Test victory in Hyderabad and missed the second Test.” However, England have opted not to call up a replacement for the injured spinner.

Currently in Abu Dhabi, the England squad will split ways as Leach flies back home for rehabilitation, while the rest of the team proceeds to India for the upcoming test in Rajkot.

India vs England: Kohli to miss remainder of the series

Meanwhile, in a development from the Indian camp, former captain Virat Kohli will miss all three tests against England due to family reasons. Kohli, who is set to welcome his second child in September 2024, will be absent from the squad for the remainder of the series.

As England strategize for the pivotal third test without Leach, the team will rely on its remaining resources to maintain their momentum in the series. Leach’s career statistics underscore his significance to the English bowling attack, with 126 wickets in 36 Test matches at an average of 34.40.

With both teams facing challenges in personnel, the upcoming test promises to be a captivating encounter as England aims to secure a series victory in the subcontinent.
