The central contract issue between PCB and players has been resolved. Before the departure of team to India, central contract issue has been sorted out. Players are unexpectedly to get 50% increase in central contract.
Top Pakistani cricketers including Babar Azam, Muhammad Rizwan and Shaheen Shah Afridi wanted an increase in central contracts. In June 2023, these top players asked PCB for increase in their central contract.
PCB didn’t respond these players and when they again questioned PCB then PCB convinced them to play Asia cup. PCB gave confidence to the players that they will resolve this issue.
After Asia cup, players again questioned PCB. Now sources claim that PCB has responded the players. All the players will get increase in their central contracts. About 50% increase is expected from PCB.
The top players Babar Azam, Muhammad Rizwan and Shaheen Shah Afridi will get 4.2 million as A category players. The players in B category will get about 3 million and the players in C and D category will get 1.5 million and 0.75 million respectively.
PCB is also deciding to reduce central contract players. In last central contract there were 33 players and now PCB is deciding to reduce players to less than 30.
A category include Babar Azam, Muhammad Rizwan and Shaheen Shah Afridi. In B category Fakhar Zaman, Imam ul Haq, Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah are included.
