Mr Ramiz Raja, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), has asked the fans to support their cricket team rather than bashing it after a series loss. He says the same team has won most of their matches.
While understanding that the team lacks in many areas, including the middle-order, Raja narrated the board is working on the shortcomings and assured the fans of ‘gradual’ results. He mentioned that success could not be achieved overnight.
Raja’s statements came after Pakistan Cricket Team showed horrible performances during the Pak vs Eng seven-match T20I series. Although they lost by 4-3, the doings in the last two matches were horrible as a unit.
“Our team has had an incredible winning percentage in the last 12 months. They have won 80 per cent of their matches which is quite impressive,”
“These players have redefined themselves during the last two years. We can’t press a button and start playing aggressive cricket like Australia. I know there are mistakes, but this team needs backing. We are working on the process; results will come gradually,”
Quoting his dream project, Pakistan Junior League, as a forum to provide a platform to the youngsters, he says the PJL will soon dig out the cricket products to shine at the international level.
But, I can promise you, the next generation of cricketers will be more vital than ever. Pakistan Junior League will establish ready-to-go players for international cricket. We will give ample opportunities to our players, and you will see results,”
