England Cricket Team is all set to arrive in Pakistan on Thursday for a seven-match T20I series, starting from September 20th. The flight will land in Karachi since the first four matches of the series are scheduled to be played at National Stadium. The two teams will then head towards Lahore to encounter the remaining three T20Is at Gadaffi Stadium.
The Pakistan Cricket Board has arranged foolproof security for the guests, who will be provided to them on every route. It also includes bulletproof buses that reached NSK on Wednesday to carry the England squad from stadium to hotel, alongside more presidential style security perks.
Pakistan was due to host England before the ICC T20 World Cup 2021, but the ECB backed off, citing bubble fatigue and unexplained security reasons. They cancelled the tour soon after New Zealand Cricket (NZC) ditched the ongoing tour a moment before the first match was to be rivalled, mentioning security threats from an inauthentic source.
England last toured Pakistan in 2005, and it will be their first-ever tour in 17 years. They will combat the seven-match T20I series vs Pakistan under the leadership of Jos Buttler, who has been appointed England’s white-ball skipper as a successor of Eoin Morgan. His first task as the permanent skipper was a three-match T20I series against India in July.
The ECB has already named its squad for Pak vs Eng T20I series, whereas the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), on Thursday, will name its squads for England series, tri-series, including Bangladesh and New Zealand, and the T20 World Cup 2022.
