Asia Cup 2022: All you need to know about

The 15th edition of the ACC Asia Cup is all set to kick start in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on 27th August 2022. Earlier, Sri Lanka was all set to host the event, but following the poor political and economic condition in the island nation, the Asian Cricket Council decided to shift the venue.

Asia Cup 2022 will be played in a 20-over format this time. There will be six teams participating, divided into two groups, composing three teams in each. One from UAE, Kuwait, Hong Kong, or Singapore will join the rest five; Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.

So far, only the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have named their squads for Asia Cup 2022. Whereas, the rest of the teams are yet to announce their teams. Notably, the arch-rivals India and Pakistan are placed in Group A alongside to be-decided Qualifiers. The rest three are placed in Group B.

From each group, the top two teams will qualify for Super 4, which will be played in a round-robin manner among the four teams. The top two sides from Super 4 will get a ticket to the grand finale.
