New Zealand to tour Pakistan later this year

New Zealand Cricket Team is all set to voyage to Pakistan for a two-match Test series in three ODIs, to be played from December 2022 to January 2023. The NZC revealed the news on Tuesday as reported by Geo Super, and will reach Pakistan, after completing their series versus India on 30th November.

Notably, the series will take place after the completion of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. Pakistan will also host England post World Cup for two Test matches, which are part of the England tour of Pakistan 2022. The seven-match T20I series of Pak vs Eng will be played before the marquee event in September.

It is pertinent to mention here that NZC also has revealed the schedule for the tri-nation series including Pakistan and Bangladesh. The first match will feature the hosts against the Tigers on 8th October whereas, the final has been scheduled for 14th October. The participants find the tri-nation series as a practice forum for the World Cup 2022 the Super 12 round of which starts on 22nd October.

Moreover, New Zealand will get back to Pakistan for three ODIs which are part of the last year’s cancelled tour. Notably, NZC called off their ongoing tour moments before the first match kick started.

9 Oct – Pakistan v New Zealand, Hagley Oval, Christchurch (1200 PST)

10 Oct – Bangladesh v Pakistan, Hagley Oval, Christchurch (0800 PST)

11 Oct – New Zealand v Bangladesh, Hagley Oval, Christchurch (0800 PST)

12 Oct – Bangladesh v Pakistan, Hagley Oval, Christchurch (0800 PST)

13 Oct – New Zealand v Pakistan, Hagley Oval, Christchurch (0800 PST)

14 Oct – Final, Hagley Oval, Christchurch (0800 PST)

The Pakistan Cricket Team’s fans are happy to see the cricket-packed second half of 2022. What makes them more delighted is the return of international cricket to the fullest with all teams willing to visit for international fixtures. Both, NZC and ECB abandoned their tours of Pakistan before the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 citing security, and players’ mental well-being reasons respectively.
