What did Jason Roy do?

According to news sources, England’s batter Jason Roy has been handed a two-match ban and a 2500 pounds ban for prejudicial conduct. The reprehension came from the Cricket Disciplinary Commission of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

Moreover, it is being said that the suspension is being suspended for 12 months depending on Roys’s behaviour. The opening batter, on the investigation, admitted being involved in the offences. However, no details have been revealed about the incident(s) which led to the 31-year-old behaving in this way. The batter had recently performed in the Pakistan Super League (PSL 7) and was an essential part of the franchise the Quetta Gladiators. The ECB released the following statement on breach of Directive 3.3 by Roy

“A Disciplinary Panel of the Cricket Discipline Commission has announced its sanction on Jason Roy after he admitted a charge of conducting himself in a manner which may be prejudicial to the interests of cricket or which may bring the game of cricket, the ECB and himself into disrepute, in breach of ECB Directive 3.3,”

The English opener was handed double penalties by the disciplinary panel

“Following a full disciplinary hearing at which all available evidences was heard, the Disciplinary Panel ruled that Mr. Roy should: (i) be suspended from the next two England matches for which he is eligible for selection, but that such suspension be suspended for 12 months dependent on good behaviour; and (ii) pay a fine of £2,500 by March 31, 2022,”

Jason Roy recently pulled out of the Indian Premier League citing bubble fatigue. The decision came as a shock for many league fans because he was in great batting form and even hit his maiden century in the PSL. The batsman also announced to take a short leave from cricket because of exhaustion from remaining in bubbles for a long time.
