The 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022) is set to begin from 26th March and will be played across major venues of Maharashtra. Not only the clocks are ticking for IPL, but the cricket-filled calendar has already witnessed the top-notch leagues down and dusted i.e, the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and the many more to kick-start as per their schedules.
People often compare and contrast IPL and PSL on behalf of their quality, hype, and most importantly, many players who play both IPL and PSL. In the recently coiled up PSL 2022, we saw many cricketers who got auctioned in the IPL 2022 mega auction and will be rendering their services for their respective franchises.
With the launch of two new IPL teams, the players can have further chances to shine once again, but this time in IPL. Let’s have a look at the top five players who are well-performed in PSL 2022 and can also do wonders in the cash-rich league.
David Willey:
David Willey, who will be playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the league’s forthcoming season, has done wonders for the Multan Sultans. Undoubtedly, Sultans ended as the PSL gurus but failed to win the grand finale versus Lahore Qalandars. Mohammad Rizwan and co, who were unbeaten throughout the tournament despite a single defeat versus Qalandars in the round-robin, saw Willey adding some vital performances throughout.
Not only he is a useful batter but also plucked 13 scalps in eight games. RCB anticipates him as a vital cog in the squad. It will be interesting to see how the captain-less side will utilize the English player surrounded by the likes of big names like Virat Kohli, AB De Villiers, Faf Du Plessis, and others.
Alex Hales:
Alex Hales, who played for Islamabad United in PSL 2022, is auctioned by the Kolkata Knight Riders for the extravaganza’s 15th version. The stats have never been in favour of him when it comes to the IPL but the guy has been appealing in BBL, Vitality Blast, and PSL.
His red-hot form for the United was too visible. The player although opt-out of the league, but made a surprise return just before the play-offs. His team, unluckily, lost the Eliminator 1 versus Peshawar Zalmi. The former English player slammed 355 runs at an SR of 147.30.
The IPL 2022 will see him opening alongside Shreyas Iyer for the Purple Force. It must be noted KKR are scheduled to open the marquee event on 26th May alongside the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
Tim David:
Tim David is yet another gem dug out by Sultans. The player has been bought by Mumbai Indians for IPL 2022 after seeing his bombastic performances in IPL 2022. No doubt, he has been one of the terrific players in the format for over an year.
Tim is along the wise picks Indians made this year following the names of Ishan Kishan who is the most expensive player, and Jofra Archer of England. For Sultans, David scored 278 runs from 143 balls. Notably, Indians do not have much polished middle order, hence, the score will heavily depend on how he plays.
Chris Jordan:
Although Karachi Kings badly failed in PSL 2022, but there is no denying to the fact that Chris Jordan was their only incredible overseas pick. Jordan’s performance for the red-blue men was somehow more impressive than other mates. He plucked out nine wickets in five games for Babar Azam and co.
Jordan, who has been with Eoin Morgan’s side since the 2015 World Cup, has been bought by the CSK, who are the title defenders. He has all those abilities to turn the game with deadly deliveries. If given proper chances, he is immensely useful in the lower order with the bat.
Rashid Khan:
Unquestionably, there is no better player than Rashid Khan. His love with Pakistan, especially with his franchise Lahore Qalandars, speaks via his performances he allots in PSL every time. The only reason why the spinner had the worst IPL season last time was due to Sun Riser’s poor management.
The leggie is the biggest gift to any T20 side, and probably, this is the reason why he is the star of the format. It was unlucky for the Qalandars since he flew back to his country for national duties. However, his team clutched their first-ever trophy this PSL 2022.
