The 2023 edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is all set to kick-start by the new year, and cricket stars from all over the world are cheering to participate in the flourishing league. The tournament will also include world-class players from Pakistan.
However, many of the Pakistani players are likely to miss the initial days of the tournament, prioritizing national duties first. Since New Zealand is all set to tour Pakistan for the Test series, the end days of the series will most likely collide with the beginning of BPL 2023.
It means that those, part of the Pak vs NZ series, such as Mohammad Rizwan, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Haris, Iftikhar Ahmed, Naseem Shah, and Mohammad Wasim Jr, will join the tournament quite late. However, others will be available for the tournament on a full-time basis.
Those players who have been away from the national fold, such as Hasan Ali, Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Amir, and Azam Khan, are also up to don jerseys of several franchises during the tournament. However, key pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi, who has been subjected to prolonged injury, is less likely to participate in the league despite signing a deal.
