Sunil Narine smashes highest individual score of IPL 2024

Kolkata Knight Riders player Sunil Narine was in the headlines after his explosive knock of 85 against the Delhi Capitals on Wednesday. After his opening partner Phil Salt departed on 18 runs, Narine took things in his hands and set the stage on fire with his fiery knock.

His inning of 39 balls includes seven boundaries and as many sixes at a strike rate of 217.95. Doing so, Narine becomes the highest individual run-scorer of IPL 2024 up to date. He was the driving force behind KKR’s massive total as they put 272 on the board.

Andre Russell’s 41 off 19, Angkrish Raghuvanshi’s 54 off 27, and Rinku Singh’s 26 off 8 also kept the spectators on the edge of their seats. Notably, it is now the second-highest team total of the season. Earlier, Sunrisers Hyderabad posted 277 against the Mumbai Indians.

Coming back to Sunil’s inning, he is followed by Rajasthan Royals’ Ryan Parag who scored 84* off 43 and Virat Kohli, who smashed 83* off 59, respectively. The bowling all-rounder’s best over came against bowler Ishant Sharma as he slammed 26 runs to him.

The West Indies player has 134 runs from three innings in the season so far. It remains to be seen if he will duplicate this performance in the remainder of the tournament. It is pertinent to mention that KKR are currently placed second on the table with two out of two wins.

As the DC vs KKR encounter continues, it is expected that the Purple Force will register another win to add to their tally.
