Shaheen Afridi Overtakes Babar Azam in ICC T20I Rankings

  • Shaheen Afridi goes up, Babar Azam goes down in the new ICC T20I rankings

In cricket, where players are always striving to do their best, some big changes have happened in the T20I rankings. Let’s talk about Shaheen Afridi and Babar Azam from Pakistan.

First, let’s celebrate Shaheen . He’s a left-arm fast bowler from Pakistan, and he’s been doing amazingly well. After the first three T20Is against New Zealand, he’s moved up two spots in the rankings. Now, he’s the 17th best T20I bowler in the world. That’s huge! His bowling in the second match, where he got 3 wickets for just 13 runs, was super impressive. He’s now Pakistan’s top T20I bowler, which is a big deal. Even his teammate Haris Rauf, who’s also a fast bowler, is behind him now.

But sadly, Babar , who’s usually Pakistan’s star batsman, has had a bit of a tough time lately. He’s slipped down in the rankings. In the second and third T20Is against New Zealand, he didn’t score as many runs as expected. In the second game, he only got 14 runs, and in the third, he got 37. Compared to his usual high standards, these scores were a bit low. Now, he’s the fifth best T20I batsman in the world. It’s not a huge drop, but for someone as talented as Babar, it’s a little disappointing.

So, while Shaheen is climbing up the ladder with his superb bowling, Babar is facing a small setback with his batting. But in cricket, things can change quickly.

Let’s see how they bounce back in the next games!
