Sandeep Lamichhane has pleaded himself innocent in a statement after being accused of raping a minor. The cricketer from Nepal took it to his Facebook account and has mentioned that he is ready to fight the legal battle against the claims.
The player, who has gained fame from the Indian Premier League (IPL), has revealed that he will reach his hometown by October 6th. Mentioning himself as disencumbered by all rape accusations, he has put a firm belief in the law and believes justice will be served to clear him of all allegations.
“With great hope and strength, I hereby confirm that I am reaching to my home country Nepal on this 6th October 2022 and will submit myself to the authority of Nepal to fight a legal battle against the false allegation,”
“My dear well-wishers, I assure you all that I am innocent, and I have not wronged you. I have recovered from the unpleasant situation I went through, and I have prepared myself to go through this ordeal to prove myself innocent and a victim of a conspiracy. I am sure all wrongful allegations charged against me will be unfolded in the span of time.”
Hoping for a fair trial, he concluded by mentioning,
“I hereby reiterate that I am INNOCENT, and I have complete non-shaken faith in the justice system. I firmly believe in all the law enforcement authorities and honourable courts for their fair trial and adjudication and am just hoping to get justice at the earliest,”
The former captain of the Nepal Cricket Team has been regarded fugitive at large by Kathmandu District Court after he was blamed for raping a minor. He was issued an arrest warrant after his location turned out to be a mystery for the officials. However, he has surrendered to the authorities, announcing his return to Nepal in a week.
The INTERPOL (International Criminal Police Organization) issued a diffusion notice against his name after the request of the Nepal police on the 26th of September.
