PSL and Women’s League no more to clash

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to break away from the traditional mold and give the Women’s League its own separate platform, away from the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL). The move, which is being led by the management committee headed by Najam Sethi, aims to give the Women’s Super League the attention it deserves.

The league, which is set to take place in September, will feature five franchise teams and separate bidding process for franchise rights. The PCB has already received a strong interest from top female cricketers from around the world to participate in the league.

It’s worth mentioning that in the past, the PCB had planned to hold the Women’s League alongside the PSL, however, under the current management, the decision was made to give the league its own dedicated window.

The PCB is also looking to collaborate with international women’s organizations associated with the United Nations, such as the Malala Foundation, to promote the league and showcase the positive image of Pakistan through the tournament.

While the PSL 8 is set to take place from February 13 to March 19 in Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Multan, the Women’s Super League will be taking place in September, giving fans a chance to enjoy a double dose of exciting cricket action.
