The final of the ninth edition of the Pakistan Premier League (PSL 2024) is over the horizon. The much-awaited clash will take place at National Bank Cricket Arena on March 18 as Multan Sultans and Islamabad United will vie for supremacy.
Mohammad Rizwan-led Sultans will battle for their second PSL title, while Shadab Khan’s United will look to add a third trophy to their cabinet. While it is an all-important clash, Sultans’ skipper sees it as ‘just another match’.
Sultans have been the most successful team of PSL 2024 with seven wins in round robin stage. With 14 points, they became the first side to reach the playoffs, and subsequently, the first side to enter the final. Things have been easy for them, and Rizwan does not want to be under pressure ahead of the big match.
It will be the fourth consecutive PSL final for the Multan-based franchise. The captains of both teams gathered at Karachi’s Custom House for the final photoshoot ahead of the big day. Rizwan stated,
“We are playing the fourth consecutive final. Everyone in the team is excited but for me, the game is just like a season opener,”
Notably, United are entering the PSL final after a span of six years.
