The second edition of the Legends League Cricket (LLC 2022) is revolving just around the corner, and the fans are excited to witness the former cricket legends marking their presence. With cricket greats from all across the world participating in the tournament, the Pakistani cricketers will not be seen time. Although some prominent names from the men in green’s country featured in the inaugural edition, but will not be a part of LLC 2022.
It is because, just like all other players, Pakistani cricketers need to get an Indian visa to play LLC 2022. However, with the cross-border tensions, the visa allowance to Pakistani cricketers is a massive factor in not allowing them to play the league’s upcoming edition. It was not a problem in the first edition since it was played in Muscat.
According to Insidesport,
“I can’t say much. If Pakistani cricketers get a visa from our government, then will play. If not, then no. We (BCCI) have no say in the tournament or visa things,”
BCCI’s eliminated ties with Pakistan Cricket are not behind the curtains. The PCB, on multiple occasions, has sent cricketing proposals to the Indian board, but it has been reluctant. The Pakistani cricketers used to be part of the world’s cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL) but were not allowed later and are banned according to the new policies.
Amidst the politics, the Pakistani cricketers are also not allowed to play the newly-launched UAE’s International League T20 (ILT20) and yet-to-be-named CSA T20 League. Since teams in both tournaments are owned by IPL franchises, they do not let Pakistani cricketers in.
Pakistani players are expected NOT to participate in Legends League Cricket scheduled in India due to expected visa issue created by Government of India. A BCCI official claims no cricket with Pakistan means no grant of visa for Legends League Cricket aswell.
