Not much focused on what people say, says Haris Rauf

  • Haris Rauf accepts the mistakes players made in the last two games
  • The team is looking to do better, he said
  • Haris and team do not care about what others gossip
  • He believes hopes are still there to qualify some semifinal

Pakistan’s renowned death bowling professional, Haris Rauf, says that he and his team do not focus much on what critics say. His statement came after Pakistan faced two consecutive defeats in the Super 12 stage of the T20 World Cup 2022 versus India and Zimbabwe, respectively.

While talking to the media ahead of an all-important clash against the Netherlands, Haris reminded how the men in green unluckily lost two close encounters. Despite the criticism he and the team have been getting, the pacer says it is not like the team did not try its best.

“We lost both the matches after coming so close on the last balls; we made all our efforts in both games,”

Further clarifying his sentiments, he says the team is equally hurt, just like every other cricket fan and assures that they would bounce back even stronger in the tournament. Pakistan’s chances to qualify for the semi-final are although thin, but the hopes are not dead yet.

“We are as hurt as any cricket fan would be. The tournament is not finished for us, and we can still make a comeback, we have three games left, and we are confident of doing well in those matches,”

He accepted the mistakes the men in green committed and promised to do even better in the forthcoming games. Haris mentioned that the team’s focus is on the matches rather than listening to what people are saying.

“We couldn’t finish those two games properly. We have analysed our mistakes and will do better,”

“We are focused on our cricket and not listening too much to what is being said outside,”
