Najam Sethi reveals new PCB chief selector

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) management committee, led by Najam Sethi, held a press conference to announce some important changes to the selection committee’s post. Sethi announced that Haroon Rasheed will be the new Chief Selector of the Pakistan Cricket team.

Rasheed, who was a member of the interim selection committee, resigned from his post to serve as the head of the selection committee with immediate effect. This move comes at a crucial time for Pakistan cricket as the team aims to rebuild and improve its performance on the international stage. Rasheed’s wealth of experience and knowledge of the game will undoubtedly be an asset to the national team as they work towards achieving their goals.

The previous chief selector, Mohammad Wasim, was fired from his post due to poor performance. Shahid Afridi was then named as the Interim chief selector until the New Zealand ODI series. Sethi stated that the rest of the panel will be announced after consultation.

The appointment of Haroon Rasheed comes at a crucial time for Pakistan cricket. The team has been going through a rough patch and has not been performing well on the international stage. The PCB management committee hopes that Rasheed’s experience and knowledge of the game will help the team bounce back and improve its performance.

The management committee also emphasized that this is an important step towards rebuilding the team and achieving its goals. The team has been struggling for some time and the PCB hopes that this change will bring a positive impact on the team’s performance. The rest of the panel will be announced after consultation with the new chief selector.

As per Najam’s statements,

“I am pleased to announce Haroon Rasheed as the chief selector. I have worked with him over the last few years. I have made this announcement since there were a lot of speculations and I wanted to end those. We had enough time but there was pressure from the media so that is why I have made an announcement.”
