Mohammad Amir, the former Pakistani speed bowler, has expressed on Twitter his discontent with the pitch utilized in the ongoing 1st Test match between teams of Pakistan and Australia. Amir joked that the bowlers should return home because this pitch was not designed for them.
“Is pitch pe to bowlers ko ghar chale jana chaye batman’s ek doosre k sath khail lein” “(Bowlers should return home as this pitch was not designed for them and should play themselves).”
Mughees Ali, a journalist, responded to Amir’s tweet questioning if the match was fixed or not.
Amir responded that he did not want to answer Mughees’ tweet at first but that he will now because he used harsh language at the fans. Amir claims that his match-fixing experience proves he is a shameless individual.
As a result, some people condemned the pitch curator, and social media has been filled with memes. Amir’s supporters stepped in to defend him, reminding the journalist that Amir has already completed his penalty for his actions and that such remarks should not be made on a simple tweet. Mughees tweeted again that Amir was wrong for disrespecting the pitch administrators.
Hafeez also on Twitter criticized the organizers on 5 March 2022 for preparing a slow & dead’ pitch, but he also criticized the home team’s attitude. “Slow & dead pitch.. above all low intent so far fading out chances of result in this historic test match. One team have to play very poorly to give a result in this test match. Result oriented cricket is the future of Test cricket not dead drawn games please”.
Although the Pakistani bowlers faced hurdles in getting wickets on the first two days of the first Test match, the Pakistani team scored 476/4 in the first innings. In response, the Australian batters are having a great time at the crease, amassing 364-4 in 105 overs. Although it would be an exaggeration to say that pitch conditions in Pakistan are pretty awful, the standards are not up to international standards.
