As the ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League progresses to the PSL 2024 playoffs and the final, the match officials to officiate the high-stakes clashes have been revealed. On Wednesday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) named umpires and match referees for three playoffs and the final.
According to details, the Qualifier scheduled for March 14th between Multan Sultans and Peshawar Zalmi will be refereed by Roshan Mahanama. Whereas, Aleem Dar and Richard Illingworth will be on-field umpires. Rashid Riaz and Faisal Afridi have been designated as third and fourth umpires, respectively.
For the Eliminator 1 set to take place between Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators, referee Muhammad Javed will take charge. Ahsan Riaz and Chris Gaffaney have been slated as on-field umpires along with Asif Yaqoob and Rashid Riaz as third and fourth umpires, respectively.
Javed will once again take hold of referee duties for the Eliminator 2 on March 16th. Whereas, Illingworth and Yaqoob will be the on-field umpires. Raza and Afridi will be third and fourth umpires, sequentially.
As far as the PSL 2024 final is concerned, Roshan, who will referee the Qualifier, will once again be in action on March 18th. Raza and Yaqoob are slated as third and fourth umpires while Gaffaney and Illingworth will be on-field umpires.
It is pertinent to mention that all playoffs and the final are set to take place at National Bank Cricket Arena, Karachi, previously known as National Stadium. As per Ramadan schedule, the matches will kick off under floodlights at 9 pm PST.
