Earlier in the game, the Antigua & Barbuda Falcons had set themselves up well for a chase after restricting the Trinbago Knight Riders to 134. The Knight Riders' batting relied heavily on Kieron Pollard and Tim David, as the rest of the lineup struggled. The Falcons' bowlers, particularly Shamar Springer (2/28), executed well, with the spinners containing runs and pacers performing admirably in the death overs.
Trinbago Knight Riders will be upset with the outcome. Akeal Hosein and Andre Russell bowled only two overs, each claiming a wicket. Sunil Narine delivered an economical spell, claiming wickets while keeping the run rate in check. The other bowlers failed to take any wickets, contributing to the team's struggles in the end. They will look to leave this behind and bounce back stronger.
The Antigua & Barbuda Falcons have successfully chased down a target of 135 runs. Losing Brandon King early in the first over, Kofi James soon followed the suit, but it was Justin Greaves who anchored the innings with a solid 46 runs before retiring out. Hassan Khan added a brisk 36, while Imad Wasim, after narrowly avoiding a controversial lbw decision, finished not out on 36. Fabian Allen later scored the winning runs to get their side over the line.
Phew! After all the twists and turns, it is the Antigua & Barbuda Falcons who come out on top in this close contest. They have just kept their hopes alive to stay in contention for the playoffs with this win. Disappointing for the home side but good to see the sportsman spirit as they all shake hands in the end.
