Right then! That's all from this game! India Legends finish their league stage with a win while South Africa Legends have one game to go and they would want to come out all guns blazing. On 14th March 2021, England Legends go up against Sri Lanka Legends and that match will begin at 1900 local (1330 GMT). Do join us for that. Until then, cheers and take care.
Yuvraj Singh, the MAN OF THE MATCH, says that it was great to relive those memories of hitting sixes at will. Adds that he wanted to finish the innings with a bang as they had a good start. Adds that the wicket was a little two-paced. Tells that this year, he was working with his state guys about death hitting and says that staying still is the key and keeping the bat high in the air was important. Adds that bat speed needs to continue going and he is playing a lot of golf now which is a lot of help.
Sachin Tendulkar, the Indian Legends' skipper, says that it was not a bad start and the ball came on nicely onto the bat. Adds that they had not lost quick wickets and that helped. Goes onto say that Yuvi played exceptionally and there are few players who can hit the ball like that. States that it felt nice to get the ball off the middle. Goes onto say that he hasn't heard from the physio about Badrinath's injury but hopes that he can be fit for the next game. Tells that they know where they stand and they will give their best.
Jonty Rhodes, the South African Legends' skipper, says that they were chasing a lot of leather. Adds that they were in the game for the first 15 overs with the ball but India took the game away in the last 5 overs. Adds that they fell a little short of fit players towards the end. Goes onto say that a couple of guys are sitting down with ice packs and they will look at how it goes the next day.
Earlier in the match, Sachin Tendulkar's 60 and Yuvraj Singh's masterclass with the bat helped India Legends post 204 on the board. South Africa were in the game for the first 15 overs with the ball but then let the game slip as India plundered them. They were not helped to injuries to some key players and eventually they fell short by 56 runs. Stay tuned for the presentation ceremony!
India Legends did a good job with the ball. They did not pick up a wicket in the first 10 overs and that had Sachin a little worried but post that, it was a procession as they kept on chipping away at the wickets and they never looked back. The spinners did a terrific job while their fielding was brilliant as compared to their counterparts. Overall, it was a wonderful performance and they finish the league stages on a high.
South Africa Legends started off well with Morne van Wyk and Andrew Puttick doing well but they were not going at the required run rate and they needed to press on the accelerator but both of them fell in quick succession and that was that. They never recovered and kept on losing wickets at regular intervals with the required rate creeping up as well. Jonty Rhodes did have some fun towards the end but it was too late for the South African Legends.
A comprehensive win for India Legends! They were simply superb and they have finished the league stage with a win and they will be pretty pleased with the effort. South Africa Legends have been humbled and they would hope that they can win their last game against Bangladesh Legends and not depend on the net run rate for an entry into the semi-finals.

OUT! CAUGHT. Makhaya Ntini goes. Short, outside off, Ntini throws his bat at it. But gets no pace to work with. Gets a thick outside edge, which dips onto short third man. Manpreet Gony dives to his left and takes a good catch. Smiles in the end.

Yorker, around middle, Makhaya Ntini can only dig it out back to the bowler. Ntini looks for the single but Vinay Kumar dives across to his right and makes a terrific stop. Ntini jokes with the bowler, asking him why didn't he allow the single. Virender Sehwag smiles.

Slower ball, on a length, angling away, Jonty looks to hammer it through the covers but plays pretty early. The ball hits the toe end of the bat and rolls down to long off. One run taken.
