Right! End of another triple-header day in the Abu Dhabi T10! The points table is opening up slightly now. Remember, 5 teams can qualify for the playoffs. Thursday, 28th November, 2024, sees another triple header, with the first match of the day, between Bangla Tigers and Deccan Gladiators set to kick off from 3.30 pm local (1130 GMT), but as usual, our build-up will begin much earlier. In addition, you can catch all the action from the Global Super League and also the two Test matches - New Zealand vs England and South Africa vs Sri Lanka. Keep browsing the tabs and enjoy! ADIOS! TAKE CARE!
Victorious captain of the UP Nawabs, RAHMANULLAH GURBAZ, thanks the almighty for the win. Praises the way his entire team performed and lauds his bowlers for setting up the win. Admits that the net run rate was a talking factor during the chase, after big losses in the first two games. But quickly adds that he does not want to rely on net run rate but rather win convincingly in the next two games to make it through to the playoffs.
UP Nawabs' BINURA FERNANDO HAS BEEN NAMED AS THE PLAYER OF THE MATCH, FOR HIS 2/10 IN 2 OVERS. Honestly says that the conditions were favourable for bowling in the first innings and he prospered. Is happier for the fact that Nawabs' bowling unit is getting better with each game. On his own success, Fernando says that he does not have express pace, so has to stick to consistent lines and lengths in the shorter formats. Feels proud for sticking around despite not having too many weapons in his arsenal.
... THE PRESENTATION ...
In the previous game, Phil Salt that one should always peak towards the end. Rahmanullah Gurbaz and his UP Nawabs are doing it in this season. They started their tournament badly, first getting bowled out for 51 and then losing their next match as well, but have nicely bounced back with a hattrick of wins. Talking about this game, the bowlers set it up nicely, restricting New York for 74 and with the bat, skipper Gurbaz batted through, although his dodgy knee might need some attention soon. Please stay tuned for the presentation...
A bizarre match for the defending champions. Seemed like they just did not turn up for the game. They batted poorly, save aside Dewald Brevis to muster just 74 and then with the ball, looked totally lost. Losing Mohammad Amir in the opening over of the chase did not help either. No bowler looked like even taking a wicket and this is a real drubbing for the defending champions. Additionally, given that it has come at the business end of the tournament, could spell worries for their playoff qualification.
That's as crushing a dominating victory as it might seem. Rahmanullah Gurbaz is pumped up, while Kieron Pollard is downcast. It was just one game, but in the matter of that one game, the Nawabs have leaped up to 4th spot, while the Strikers are suddenly down to 8th.

SIX! Insult to injury. That overthrow got Fletcher back on strike and he capitalizes. Around off, Andre Fletcher comes down the track and swings it cleanly over Kieron Pollard at long on!

Outside off, Andre Fletcher pushes it towards point and takes a single. Oh wait. The fielder from cover gets to the ball, picks it up, turns blind and has a wild shy at the bowling end. No one is backing up and it is an overthrow to long on. Two runs in total.
