So that is it from this game! We will now look forward to your company for the other games of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Qualifier. Till then, take care and goodbye!
Canada skipper, Navneet Dhaliwal, says that it was a very good bowling performance. Feels that there is still room for improvement in their batting, especially in the Powerplay. States that they got out on bad balls. Wants his team to keep wickets in hand so that they can try even bigger finish. On facing Ireland next, Dhaliwal replies that if they bat well against them, they have a good chance of winning the match.
Nigeria skipper, Ademola Onikoyi, says that after the last game they had a long net session. Tells that they tried to sort out their issues. Mentions that it was a good experience for them to play a day-night match. Wants his team to remain positive and enjoy their game against Oman.
Man of the Match, Nitish Kumar opines that the pitch was a bit slow and low and since the boundaries were big, they had to run a lot and do the basics right. Adds that he looked to bat through the innings and mentions that the top order is hungry for more runs.
Canada will be pleased with their overall effort in the field. Their batting did a reasonable job to put up a challenging total and then their bowlers were too good for Nigeria. Dillon Heyliger and Jeremy Gordon bowled with a lot of pace and fire while the spinners also did an effective job. With back-to-back wins, Canada take their tally to 4 points and remain as the only unbeaten team in Group B.
Yet another listless batting performance by Nigeria sees them going down by a big margin. Once again their batsmen got exposed and they didn't show enough spine to put up a fight. After suffering a couple of early blows, Chimezie Onwuzulike and Sulaimon Runsewe tried to revive the chase with a 57-run stand but the innings fell flat on its face after that. It was a Nigerian procession as one by one the batsmen were sent back to the pavilion with their tails between their legs. The only solace was that they managed to play out 20 overs and didn't get all out.

Movement on the first delivery of the innings and that one is bowled at 87.1 mph. Length ball angling in, pitching outside off, it straightens and beats the outside edge of the batsman.
We're back for the run chase. The Canadian team is in a huddle near the rope. Daniel Ajekun and Leke Oyede are the openers for Nigeria. Start in the Powerplay holds the key. Jeremy Gordon to steam in first up. Watch out for his pace...
Now then, the target is a challenging one and Nigeria will have to bat really well if they are to chase this down. Canada are probably favorites to defend it and anything other than that will be a surprise. Do join us in a short while for the second innings.
Nitish Kumar is down for a quick interview. Thinks his approach was what got him going after a not so good start. Feels that they have gotten to the target they wanted to achieve and he is confident that they can defend this. Further adds that he does not feel dew is a big factor tonight and they should look to stick to their basics. Ends by saying that they want to be known as a positive and aggressive team and he thinks that they are going in the right direction.
The Nigerian bowling wasn't that great. Except for Abiodun Abioye and Daniel Ajekun, the rest were very inconsistent with their lines and lengths. Their fielding also did not help as there were too many misfields and dropped catches. Overall, they need to improve a lot in this aspect of the game.
Some lusty blows in the last few overs have seen Canada post a total which one feels is just above par. However, they could have scored a little more after their top order got them off to a decent start. However, they did lose their way in the middle, an excellent cameo by Tariq and a stable knock from Kumar have given them the score which they would have wanted after electing to bowl.

A run out chance goes abegging! The keeper has probably dislodged the bails off with his hands. Big opportunity goes abegging. This is worked towards deep mid-wicket. The batters take one and go for a second which is not on. The fielder fires it to the keeper who fails to collect it cleanly and in the end, whips the bails off with his hand. Hello and welcome everyone for Match 18 of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Qualifier in Abu Dhabi between Canada and Nigeria. Both teams have played one game each at the moment and the results were contrasting for them. On one hand, Canada registered a thumping win while on the other hand, Nigeria were thrashed. The Canadian team looks quite strong on paper and will be the favourites here while the Nigerian boys would have to play out of their skins to compete. Let's hope for a good battle between bat and ball.
