Right then, that is it from an exciting encounter in the Pakistan Super League. The next encounter will be on 4th March, Monday where Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi locked horns. The first ball will be bowled at 7.30 pm IST (2.00 pm GMT) but our coverage will start much earlier. Until then, goodbye and Cheers!
Usman Khan is the player of the match and he says that he tries to spend time on the pitch as it gets easier to bat on with time. Adds that he looks to play in the straight V and it comes out good more often than not for him. Closes by saying that the coaches told him to play attacking cricket and capitalize on the loose deliveries.
The losing skipper of Multan Sultans, Mohammad Rizwan says they had planned to use the powerplay to their credit and the way Usman Khan played it helped them massively. Mentions that they will continue playing positive cricket as their performance might hamper the chances of other sides going ahead.
The skipper of Karachi Kings, Shan Masood says today they were off the pace a little bit and it is a harsh lesson for them as the ball was coming onto the bat better than the previous games that they played. Adds that the main thing is they still have their destiny in their own hands but they have to put in their best performance in every game. Closes by saying that he doesn't want to make any excuses but they have been battling with players fitness and availability but they have to cope with that.
Stay tuned for the presentation ...
Earlier in the innings, Multan Sultans chose to bat first and it was the heroics of Usman Khan who scored a brilliant century and Mohammad Rizwan who got out after scoring a half-century. They put up a brilliant partnership and powered Multan to 189. In the bowling department for Karachi Kings, only Blessing Muzarabani and Hasan Ali managed to take wickets for Karachi.
Multan Sultans started strong as Usama Mir got the wickets early and David Willey got involved in a run-out. Chris Jordan sent back Shan Masood and broke a slowly building partnership. Khushdil and Usama struck and gave two quick dismissals for their team. David Willey gave another important wicket sending Irfan Khan back just when he was getting explosive. Mohammad Ali removed Hasan Ali in the last over.
Karachi Kings had a shaky start to their run chase. Tim Seifert and James Vince were sent back early and for a low score. The pressure of building the innings fell on Shan Masood and Shoaib Malik. They built a strong partnership before Shan was dismissed. Shoaib Malik also couldn't continue for long and he was followed by Leus du Plooy. Irfan Khan played a small cameo but couldn't take the innings deep. Karachi Kings missed Kieron Pollard big time as they were toothless without him in the side.
Karachi Kings fell short by 20 runs as Multan Sultans wins this and became the first team in this edition to qualify for the playoffs.

On a length around the pads, Mohammad Nawaz looks to flick but misses. Mathematically with all the balls being legal from here on, Karachi Kings have lost the plot in this game.
