Commentry
Right then, Day 6 of the Abu Dhabi T10 League, 2024 has come to an end and it was quite a day that saw one unbeaten streak end, the resurgence of the Nawabs and the Tigers and the perfect five from Morrisville Samp Army. But that's not all as tomorrow, we'll be back at it with three more exciting fixtures. The first match on Wednesday, 27 November will be played between Ajman Bolts and Bangla Tigers at 5 pm IST (11.30 am GMT) but you can join us an hour in advance for the build-up. Cheers!
The captain of Morrisville Samp Army, Rohan Mustafa says that it is a great feeling to qualify for the playoffs. Mentions that he is happy with the way the pacers bowled under dewy conditions. Praises Qais Ahmad for taking the big wicket of Rovman Powell. Feels that in T10 cricket, the toss does not make a huge difference but knowing the target does help.
Charith Asalanka is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his half-century. He says the key to success is just down to watching the ball real close and hitting it cleanly. Further adds that the T20s have made them learn that they have to hit right from the first ball and as a middle order batter as well. Mentions that each one in the team stands up and does the job for the team and today was his opportunity to stand up and do it.
The presentation ceremony...
Delhi Bulls will be highly frustrated with this loss as for most parts of the match, they were in command but for about 5 overs out of the completed 20, they just lagged behind big time. They failed to finish off tidily with the ball and after a quick start provided by Tom Banton, they failed to keep the scoring rate up in the middle overs. In the end, they needed a massive 21 runs from the final over but Tim David could manage 18 of those runs and remained stranded on an unbeaten 37 off 19 balls as the Bulls failed to clinch a huge opportunity to cause an upset.
The Samp Army huffed and puffed to a decent-enough total thanks to Asalanka's breezy half-century but with the dew taking effect and chasing sides winning the earlier games, they were up against it. Plus, they didn't have a great start with the ball either but a couple of really tidy overs in the middle from the likes of Qais Ahmad and Isuru Udana allowed them to build some pressure and then the wickets came too. In the end, Muhammad Zahid just about managed to hold his nerves and got them over the line.
Oh, what a game to end the day and at the end of it all, Morrisville Samp Army have managed to somehow keep the unbeaten run going and have made it 5 wins out of 5 to guarantee a place in the playoffs.

Muhammad Zahid 31/1(2)
OUT! RUN OUT! Muhammad Zahid holds his nerves and gets the job done for the Morrisville Samp Army! The relieved look on his face says it all. Coming to the delivery, Zahid sticks to his yorker plan but ends up bowling a low full toss, on middle, David is deep in his crease and tries to go across the line. Loses his shape in the process and one hand comes off the handle. The ball rolls to the left of deep square leg. Charith Asalanka in the deep runs to his left, calmly collects it and throws it on the bounce to the batting end. The batters keep running as they go for the third run. The keeper, Andries Gous collects it cleanly and whips the bails off with Nikhil nowhere in the frame. Samp Army win this last-ball thriller by 2 runs!

WIDE! And again! An attempted wide yorker from Zahid goes slightly wrong, just beyond the tramline on off. To be fair to the bowler, David did move across his stumps slightly. Wide given. 5 needed from 1 ball now. A four will take us to a Super Over. Anything less than that will win it for the Morrisville Samp Army.

Good running! Very full from Zahid, on off, Tim David loses his shape as he looks to go down the ground. Mishits it off the bottom part of the bat in front of long on. David calls for two immediately and they make it.

Good comeback from Zahid! Bowls a scrambled seam delivery, full and wide on off, Tim David is made to reach out as he tries to go through the off side but fails to connect.

SIX! Clean strike! Zahid hurls it on a back of a length, on off, Tim David stays back and pummels it over wide long on for a biggie. Two more of these and the Bulls will be home. They need 11 from 4 balls.

FOUR! Short and punished! Not a great start to the over for Zahid as he tries to go short but fails to get it enough, around off, Tim David hangs back and muscles it through mid-wicket for a boundary.

A dot to start the over and a dot to finish as well! Bulls need 21 runs from the last over. Janat rolls his fingers over the ball and slips it full, outside off, Nikhil Chaudhary fails to pick the change of pace and connects with thin air as he connects with thin air.
