That is it! The hosts win the series 2-0. The trophy has been handed over to Hashmatullah Shahidi! Ireland will hope for some redemption. Time for T20I. Join us on the 15th of this month at 9.30 pm IST (4 pm GMT) for the first of the three games. Till then, cheers!
Hashmatullah Shahidi says he is happy about the performance. Tells Paul Stirling and Curtis Campher were playing well but he trusted his bowlers as the wicket was not easy to bowl and they did the job. Mentions his partnership with Nabi was critical. They were thinking of taking the game deep. Tells the pitch was a bit slower, there was support for the bowlers. On Nabi, he says he is an amazing player, always contributing to the team. He is an inspiration for other players.
Paul Stirling says the score was in the ball-park and were in good position at one point. Reckons the bowling group has grown a lot and are happy with their performance. Tells he threw his wicket and from there on they went on hills. Shares they'll put the game behind and focus on the future.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz is the Player of the Series. He says it was a great series for him. Adds it is excited to play against Ireland as he always scores against them. Shares they worked hard after the Test-match and are happy to win the series. Dedicates the award to Nangeyalia Kharote for his performance.
Mohammad Nabi wins the Player of the Match award. He is happy to perform, take five wickets after for a long time. Adds he concentrated just on his line and length. Reckons he was not thinking of his fifty but just focused on getting a big total for his team.
...Presentation next...
Ireland wouldn't have seen this coming. Their bowlers executed the plans and at one point we felt Afghanistan were 15-20 runs short but credit to the way Nabi and Nangeyalia Kharote played. The experienced campaigner and the debutant joined hands and spun the web around the Irish players. Mohammad Nabi ended with a five-wicket haul and Nangeyalia Kharote on his debut took four wickets. A tale of horror really for Ireland. No one saw this coming. If you compare the batting performance of Ireland in this series. On both occasions, only two players ended up with a double-digit score.
What just happened? From 101/4 to 119 all out! That was quick from the Afghanistan spinners. 9 wickets went to Mohammad Nabi and Nangeyalia Kharote! A horrible performance from the visitors. Things were set up nicely for Ireland to chase a moderate total. Paul Stirling and Curtis Campher put on a 73 runs stand. Things were going nicely for the visitors but not for long as Nabi and Nangeyalia Kharote bowled in tandem and took wickets for fun.

OUT! BOWLED! Nangeyalia Kharote has the last laugh! An arm ball on middle, Barry McCarthy looks to punch it away but misses and it crashes the stumps. Afghanistan win by 117 runs.

SIX! That is one way to add few runs. Ireland forgot how to score. Full and on middle, this is lofted over long on for a biggie.
