KPL 2: Defending Champions announce their icon player

The second edition of the Kashmir Premier League (KPL 2) is all set to be staged in Muzaffarabad from August 11th to 25th, and recent developments have been coming through. The title defenders Rawalakot Hawks have announced the former Pakistani bowler Mohammad Amir as their icon player for the upcoming edition.

Rawalakot Hawks’ icon player for KPL 2

Amir, who retired from international cricket amidst all the controversies with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is delighted to be part of the paradigm. The franchise revealed the news on Thursday via Twitter writing that,

The wait is OVER..!! Here to announce our ICON HAWK PLAYER… A left-arm pace bowler Muhammad Amir is Our ICON hawk.

Amir has been making several posts in regard, being blissful for the opportunity. While talking to KPL Media, the left-arm fast bowler commented,

“I am happy to become a part of Rawalakot Hawks. Thanks to the management and coach Arshad Khan for having me,”

It must be noted the Hawks played KPL 1 final against the Muzaffarabad Tigers and lifted the maiden season trophy. They are once again ready to fly high and will be in action against Bagh Stallons on August 11th.

KPL’s first edition was a big success and gained massive viewership hyped across the borders too. The league’s management is again set to break the barriers, planning more superiority to meet its goals.

As far as Amir’s international career is concerned, he has represented Pakistan in 36 Tests, 61 ODIs, and 50 T20Is gathering 119, 81, and 59 wickets respectively in the format. The hot pace prospect now serves different franchises in league cricket across the world.
