IPL 2022: Happy News for Chennai Super Kings

In the recent developments of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022), the Chennai Super Kings have finally received a piece of happy news for them. Deepak Chahar, one of the most crucial players of the Yellow Army, will be available to participate in the forthcoming edition. The right-arm medium-fast bowler is not going under surgery and will be from the rehabilitation process in the mid of April. It means he will be available for more than half of the IPL 2022. The player is currently under rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore.

It is to be noted Deepak sustained a quadriceps injury during the West Indies T20I series. As a consequence, the player missed out on the following series versus Sri Lanka. It was assumed that he will miss the majority, or it not, the whole of the IPL 2022 due to surgery which indeed was the big blow to the title defenders. Since the plan for surgery is now no more, Chahar is most likely to be available for selection by the mid of April.

Chennai Super Kings drooling over Deepak Chahar, willing to have him back in team sooner

Chahar has been the vital cog for the CSK since 2018 and has been gathering wickets at regular intervals for the team. CSK wants him in full action as soon as possible and is ready to bear the cost to transform his pace to the next level. The franchise is willing to see the player at its camp in Surat within a few weeks. In as many appearances, Chahar has plucked 58 wickets for the MS Dhoni-led side.

The bowler, who is able to deliver some terrific deliveries in the dead overs, is also handy at the lower order with the bat. For the IPL 2022, he has been re-sold to the CSK for INR 14 Crore. It is the first time CSK have invested such a hefty amount, crossing 10 crores, in any player. It also makes Chahar second-most expensive player sold out in the IPL 2022 mega auction since the first most expensive is Mumbai Indian’s Ishan Kishan. The batter has been sold for INR 15 Crore.

Notably, CSK is the second most successful franchise in the league. It has had four titles since 2008. Stepping as the title defenders in IPL 2022 with core abilities, the team will be looking to lift the trophy again equalling Mumbai Indians’ record of having the most IPL trophies; five.
