Despite the recent terrorist attack in Karachi as reported by Indian media, Najam Sethi, chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), assures fans that the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL 2024) matches will proceed unaffected. Sethi emphasizes that presidential-level security measures have been in place since the start of the league to ensure the safety of players and officials.
All PSL matches will continue as scheduled, with enhanced security measures implemented at the National Stadium in Karachi, where two matches are scheduled. Various security agencies and the government have given clearance for the matches to proceed, deeming the recent incident unrelated to the PSL.
“The PSL matches will continue as per schedule. All the players are being well looked after,” Najam Sethi was quoted as saying by NDTV. (Najam’s statements are not quoted by any Pakistani media outlet)
