The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday revealed that ICC World Test Championship 2023 final will take place at The Oval Stadium in June 2023. The revelations also include that the ICC WTC 2025 Final will be played at the iconic Lord’s stadium.
The two venues in London will succeed Southampton, which hosted the WTC 2021 final, which took place between New Zealand and India, as Kane Williamson’s guys lifted the trophy. Although Ind vs NZ WTC final was set to take place at Lord’s but was shifted to Ageas Bowl due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Earlier, there were speculations that ICC is preparing to host World Test Championship 2023 final at the iconic Lord’s. However, all assumptions have been trashed with the official announcement. Notably, the final decision was to be made in the Annual General Meeting 2023 but has come a bit earlier than expected.
Currently, Australia and South Africa are the top two teams on the WTC 2021-23 points table, with better chances to qualify for the final. They have the winning percentages of 70 and 60, respectively, with 6 out of 10 wins and 84 and 72 points.
The next two are Sri Lanka and India, with the win percentages of 53.33 and 52.08. They have gathered 64 and 74 points by winning 5 out of 10 and 6 out of 12 games, respectively. Fifth-ranked Pakistan are struggling with four out of nine wins to stay in the tournament.
With too many series and games left in the tournament, there can be major changes in the ICC WTC 2021-23 points table. The upcoming triumphs in the forthcoming series for Australia and South Africa can have a bigger impact on their places in the final, however, the rest of the teams will only be wanting ‘wins’.
