Pakistan vs Afghanistan is all set to take place on Wednesday and will be the important clash, but not the last chance, for the men in green to qualify for the Asia Cup 2022 final. The game could have been hard for Babar Azam’s batting line-up in front of quality bowlers of Mohammad Nabi; however, the Pakistan Cricket Board reportedly has confirmed the participation of Mohammad Rizwan.
The wicket-keeping batter was immediately taken to hospital after Pak vs Ind encounter on Sunday. He fell on his right leg while keeping the ball and also felt cramps and pain in his knee. The MRI scans were examined, and it was revealed that the batter is doing well.
In a press conference on Tuesday, skipper Azam also gave an update about Rizwan’s injury, telling he is feeling well and better than before. Rizwan’s absence could have been a big hit to Pakistan in front of Umar Gul-trained Afghanistan bowlers. Nabi and men were undefeated in the Group Stage and became the first to qualify for the Super 4 round.
Rizwan has been one of the batting bones of the team alongside Babar. The skipper is yet to perform in Asia Cup, and the fans have bound hopes with Rizwan after he scores. Although Mohammad Nawaz gave match-winning performances versus India, but relying on Rizwan at the top order is unavoidable.

Alongside updating about Rizwan’s injury, Babar also mentioned that bowler Shahnawaz Dahani is feeling well now. The pacer was ruled out from Asia Cup 2022 due to a side strain. However, his recovery means he will soon get back to cricket. He became the third Pakistani pacer to be ruled out of the Asia Cup after Shaheen Shah Afridi and Wasim Jnr.
