Lahore Qalandars’ High-Performance centre provides massive facilities for the cricketers to recognize. Under the head coach Aqib Javed, the franchise has dug skillset in the form of players that are shining today on an international level. Four Namibian cricketers have utilised these facilities to the fullest.
Recognizing the world-class facilities, these Namibian cricketers are thankful to the South African-Namibian cricketer David Wiese, who made their visit possible. These players have also talked to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), expressing their wishes to take part in the upcoming editions of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Picky Ya France, Shaun Fouché, Mauritius Ngupita, and Nicol Loftie-Eaton are the four reported names of the Namibian cricketers who are thankful for the opportunities provided by Lahore Qalandars. They are looking to participate in the country’s domestic cricket alongside PSL.
Picky, who adores bowling great Shaheen Shah Afridi, narrated that,
“The standard of cricket in Pakistan is very high and we will get the opportunity to learn.”
Meanwhile, Shaun, whose favourite batter is Babar Azam, was thankful for his counterpart Wiese. He said,
“He has played in different countries of the world and in the PSL, his guidance is always useful, there is a good opportunity to prepare for the World Cup Qualifiers in Lahore, there will be plenty of T20 matches to be played in the Namibia League starting from September 1.”
Loftie, who is loving the food and hospitality in Pakistan, says,
“It’s been good so far, the hospitality of the people here is amazing, and everyone is friendly and welcoming to us. The food has been amazing too,”
“Lahore Qalandars High-Performance Center has world-class facilities, we don’t have such resources for training in our country,”
Ngupita, whose favourite all-rounder is Mohammad Hafeez, quotes that,
“The weather is a bit humid compared to back home, but now we are used to it. Pakistan food is very tasty, it has a lot of spice, and we are enjoying it a lot,”
