Cricketers from 22 countries set to shine in The Hundred 2024

New Zealand’s Kane Williamson, India’s Smriti Mandhana, Australia’s Meg Lanning, and David Warner, alongside West Indies’ Kieron Pollard, are among the prominent faces among the 890 players from 22 countries registered for The Hundred drafts.

In this highly anticipated event, the eight men’s teams had the privilege to retain 10 players each, while the women’s teams could retain 8. On retention day, 137 players were successfully retained, leaving 75 spots eagerly awaiting to be filled on draft day.

Adding to the excitement, an additional 16 players, two per squad, will be injected into the mix via the Wildcard Draft before the competition commences.

The draft order will see Birmingham Phoenix with the honor of the first pick in the women’s competition, while Northern Superchargers will lead the charge in the men’s.

Notably, England’s cricketing stars such as Dawid Malan, Amy Jones, Ollie Pope, Lauren Filer, and Jason Roy are among the domestic players included in the list.

The list of top foreign players is equally impressive, featuring India’s Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma, and Richa Ghosh; New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell, Suzie Bates, Tim Southee, and Rachin Ravindra.

Furthermore, Australia’s Ashleigh Gardner, Tim David, Matthew Wade, Beth Mooney, and Annabel Sutherland, along with Pakistan’s Shadab Khan and Fatima Sana, add substantial depth to the pool.

West Indies’ Nicholas Pooran, Deandra Dottin, and Shamar Joseph, as well as Ireland’s Orla Prendergast and Paul Stirling, will also be vying for spots in the teams.

Completing the diverse lineup are players from Sri Lanka, South Africa, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh, including Angelo Mathews, Lizelle Lee, Lungi Ngidi, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Jahanara Alam, and Shakib Al Hasan, promising a thrilling and globally representative spectacle in The Hundred drafts.
