Cricket enthusiasts worldwide, mark your calendars! The ticket sales for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 have officially opened through a public ballot system. This cricket extravaganza, scheduled from 1 to 29 June, is set to be the largest-ever T20 World Cup, featuring a whopping 55 matches across nine cities – three in the USA and six in the Caribbean.
To ensure fairness, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has implemented a public ticket ballot, accepting applications until 7 February 2024. Unlike a first-come-first-served system, this ballot offers equal opportunities to all applicants within the seven-day window, allowing fans to apply for up to six tickets per match and for as many matches as they desire.
With over 260,000 tickets available, cricket lovers can apply for their chance to witness history in the making at tickets.t20worldcup.com. Prices start at an affordable $6, making the event accessible to a broad audience.
Chris Tetley, ICC Head of Events, expressed excitement, stating, “Don’t miss the chance to be a part of the biggest Men’s T20 World Cup ever with 20 teams competing in 55 matches across 29 days.” Following the ballot, any remaining tickets will be available for general sale on 22 February.
The ticket prices, designed to be accessible, range from $6 to $25. Successful applicants will be notified via email about their secured matches, along with payment links. Unclaimed tickets will be released for general sale on a first-come, first-served basis.
Confirmed match starting times are available on the official website, with the tournament concluding with a grand final on 29 June. Cricket West Indies Chief Executive, Johnny Grave, and Chair of T20 World Cup USA, Inc., Peter Hutton, both expressed enthusiasm for the fair and inclusive ticketing process.
Johnny Grave highlighted, “The ticket ballot process is rooted in our commitment to fairness, inclusivity, and providing a memorable experience for fans worldwide. It is used at major world events and is established as a fair and equitable way to ensure that all fans have an equal opportunity to secure tickets.”
Peter Hutton emphasized the historical significance of hosting the event in the USA, considering it a landmark moment for cricket in the country. He stated, “Hosting this event in the U.S. is a watershed moment for cricket in this country…this will be an extraordinary opportunity for long-time fans, and those new to the excitement of T20 cricket, to get a first-hand, in-person look at the carnival of cricket.”
As the countdown to the T20 World Cup begins, cricket aficionados are encouraged to seize the opportunity and apply for their tickets to witness the thrilling action firsthand. Don’t miss out on this chance to be part of a historic cricket carnival!
