Breaking Boundaries: TSM Secures ICC Cricket Rights in Bangladesh

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has taken a significant step forward in expanding cricket coverage in Bangladesh by awarding ICC cricket rights to TSM, marking a milestone partnership. TSM will leverage the broadcast rights through Nagorik TV, while digital access will be facilitated through Banglalink over the next two years. This deal encompasses coverage of six men’s and women’s ICC World events until the conclusion of 2025, including prestigious tournaments like the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 and ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024.

Other marquee events covered under the agreement include the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025, ICC World Test Championship Final 2025, and ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. Geoff Allardice, Chief Executive of the ICC, expressed delight at engaging with Bangladesh’s cricket community through this partnership, emphasizing the opportunity to bolster the women’s game, especially with the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup slated for Bangladesh.

“We are delighted to have awarded ICC cricket rights to TSM for the Bangladesh territory, where there is a large and passionate fan base. With the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup taking place in Bangladesh later this year, there is a real opportunity to grow the women’s game and engage with new and existing fans in partnership with our broadcast partner,”

TSM CEO, Md Moinul Haque Chowdury, echoed this enthusiasm, highlighting the importance of delivering unparalleled coverage and immersive experiences to cricket enthusiasts in Bangladesh. The collaboration reflects the ICC’s commitment to expanding cricket’s reach and engagement in Bangladesh, with Nagorik TV and Banglalink playing pivotal roles in broadcasting and digital content accessibility.

With Bangladesh boasting a sizable and fervent cricket fan base, the ICC aims to capitalize on the sport’s popularity through this partnership. The announcement coincides with the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, further enhancing excitement among cricket aficionados in Bangladesh. TSM’s acquisition of ICC cricket rights adds to its existing portfolio, with expectations of bolstering cricket viewership and engagement in the nation.

“We are thrilled to secure broadcast and digital rights to ICC events over the next two years. Alongside numerous other international cricket rights, TSM holds in the Bangladesh territory; securing ICC events rights is definitely the jewel in the crown. Bangladesh boasts a passionate cricket fanbase, therefore we are committed to delivering unparalleled coverage and immersive experiences to fans across the nation through our Broadcast partner Nagorik TV and Exclusive Digital Partner Banglalink,”
