- Alex Hales has pulled himself out of IPL 2022
- Hales cited bio bubble fatigue as the reason not to play the league
- KKR has named Aaron Finch as replacement
England’s batter Alex Hales has withdrawn himself from the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022). The terrific hard hitter has cited bio-bubble fatigue as the reason to sideline himself from the Kolkata Knight Rider’s squad. KKR, as a replacement, have named Australia’s lethal batsman Aaron Finch.
The Purple Army bought Hales for INR 1.50 Crore in the IPL 2022 mega auction, that took place on 12th and 13th February in Bengaluru. Bubble life is not a piece of cake since many cricketers have talked about the issue. Hales, who could not bear anymore, gave up for the sake of mental well-being and his decision is respected by the KKR. Notably, Finch will play at the same price as England’s batter.
FInch has a massive IPL career. In recent times, he has been representing the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) but earlier, he has experienced playing for Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Daredevils, Pune Warriors, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Mumbai Indians, Gujarat Lions, and Kings XI Punjab. KKR will be his 9th team to feature in the cash-rich league. The player has played 87 games for different teams totalling over 2000 runs.
Alex Hales fails to experience IPL once again
As far as Hales is concerned, the player went unsold in IPL 2018 auction and was supposed to join the SRH as David Warne’s replacement. He made his IPL debut in the same year against Rajasthan. In the 2021 auction, he once again was remained unsold. It must be noted Hales was MI’s part back in 2015 but spent months without getting a single game. This year, although put him up as the priority, but he sidelined himself from the world’s money-rich league.
KKR, who are the two-time IPL champions, will play this year’s opener versus Chennai Super Kings in 26th March at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
